Toilet manners in Tanzania
John gave me the whole story on Tanzanian toilet manners... In most unwesternized restaurants and establishements, there is no toilet paper. People pour water down their crack with a little cup and rub it with their left hand. They also pick their nose with their left hand, and do any other dirty activities with the left. The right hand is for eating and shaking hands. The traditional Maasai never touch their bum... They hold it in until it is very hard and let it go all at once. If they feel dirty, they scratch their butt on a tree or in sand... It must be very comfortable..
