Back in Amsterdam
I am currently safe and sound in Amsterdam, blogging away at the 3 sisters cafe on Leidseplein, using leeched wireless internet access. My stay in Amsterdam has been quite hectic so far. I landed at Schipol around 7am and immediately dropped off my luggage at the Koopermolen hotel near Centraal Station. I then got some passport pictures taken for my upcoming visas, and purchased a Sim card for cheap international calls. I can be reached at +31 06 47 25 83 65 until Thursday morning. On Friday, I booked a doctors appointment to get a chest x-ray for TB and a HIV test for my Singaporean visa. I visited a brand new, super high-tech hospital which had the atmosphere of a museum. I got the x-ray done and am proud to report that I am TB-free. I then uselessly crossed town to give a blood sample for HIV, and will get the results early next week. I am not nervous about it, however… The weather is beautiful, the beer is cold and the weekend is here!
